Work on the First Avenue reconstruction project will ramp up starting this week. Pipes have been delivered for utility work as water and sewer will be the first phase. To facilitate the installation of new sewer infrastructure, a pump will be on site to redirect sewer flow while new pipes are installed. The pump hose will extend across the intersection of First & Oxley, requiring a temporary plate in the intersection. The lights will be switched to a temporary red flash for motorist safety while the pump is in place and return to normal operation once the pump is removed.
