We are building for the future!
In the early 1900s, our young community began to acquire land for parks and facilities, and in 1922, construction of the town's first Fire House began. Through the mid-1900s, additional facilities were built as the town grew, including expansions to our Municipal Building and construction of our parks facilities, playgrounds, pool and municipal complex. By 2000, many if not most of these facilities were due for new investment. In 2007, a Master Parks Plan was completed, which soon led to investments across the community. The 2019 Space and Places plan further defined opportunities for new investment at nodes of civic life throughout our community. Now in 2022, the City's next planned capital investments include an expanded McKinley Shelter House and a new Municipal Building, followed by a new comprehensive Parks & Recreation Master Plan.
