Municipal Pool

One of the largest and by all accounts most transformative projects that the City has undertaken, reconstruction of our Grandview Heights city pool was one of the most significant goals of our 2007 Parks Master Plan. Many recommendations from that Master Plan remained consistent throughout an expansive public workshop process begun in 2015, focused specifically on reconstruction of the pool and related facilities.

Primary goals articulated by the community included:

  • Maintaining the character of the old pool building
  • Creating expanded facilities, including improved lockers and concession areas
  • Adding a zero-entry accessible pool and an improved and more closely located kiddie pool
  • Expanding competitive swimming facilities, including creating a separate diving area and seven swim lanes
  • Maintaining ample soft grassy areas as well as shaded sitting areas

This project was completed through funds set aside for Parks and Recreation capital improvements from local hotel taxes.
