The Parks and Recreation Master Plan will assess the City’s parks and recreation operations and opportunities, including equipment, facilities, programming, available land, financial resources, and future developments. Community input will be a component of the evaluation process. The Parks and Recreation Master Plan will also examine regional and local plans—such as the LinkUs Initiative and the Heritage Trail Project—to determine what opportunities or challenges may exist for Parks and Recreation in the future. The finished Parks and Recreation Master Plan will provide recommendations for maintaining and enhancing existing assets, implementing new programs and facilities, assessing the previous City Hall site, and offer a clear, financially sustainable roadmap for the City’s Parks and Recreation system moving forward.

MKSK was awarded the bid and City Council approved funding Monday, February 9, 2026.
