Service Complex

Grandview Heights is a full-service City - rare even among the largest cities, never mind among the smallest! The City's waste stream management and infrastructure maintenance needs are all managed internally, rather than being outsourced to private companies. These services are near and dear to our residents and are often cited as one of many reasons people love living in Grandview Heights, but they also require substantial heavy equipment and staffing.

Previously, these services were provided out of our aging and outdated service complex at the corner of Grandview Avenue and Goodale Boulevard, behind the Grandview Center, our Parks & Recreation office and activity building. In order to continue to provide these City services at the highest possible level to our residents, the City built a new service complex nearby in Columbus on McKinley Avenue, preserving City property for other City facility needs. Through our Spaces and Places plan, the community identified the old service center site as the logical location for a future replacement for our Municipal Building.

The new Grandview Heights Service Complex includes facilities for trash and recycling trucks, road and parks maintenance vehicles, bulk materials storage, vehicle wash facilities, all service staff members, and our Building and Zoning department. This project was completed through funds set aside for capital improvements through normal City revenue streams.
