2025
Please be advised that Glendale Avenue will have limited access with periodic closing due to construction starting Tuesday, May 27. We encourage you to access the Food Waste Drop-Off site from Avondale Avenue. Signs will be posted.
We have noticed a rise in the use of non-compostable bags. Please do not put plastic bags in the food waste bins.
In late May, the contractor will begin installing storm and sewer lines.
In early May of 2025, the contractor began the signal portion of the project and installed signal foundations and underground conduits. Access to Glendale Avenue was maintained.
In the first quarter of 2025, bids for the design and construction phase were accepted. Decker Construction was awarded the project.
Sustainability Note: Glendale Avenue will be paved with High RAP asphalt, containing a high percentage of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP). Using RAP reduces the need for new aggregate and asphalt, conserving resources and minimizing waste. This is just one of many sustainable applications at the new City Hall, Police, and Fire Department.
