What is permit parking?

A Parking Permit is a permit linked to a permit holder's or guest's car that exempts the holder from the posted parking restriction in a designated permit zone. The permit does not exempt a permit holder from No Stopping/Parking Anytime, Street Sweeping, Snow Plowing, and other emergency temporary restrictions such as utility repairs.

There are different types of permits:

    • Resident Permit: A permit assigned to a specific zone and associated with a resident's vehicle, allowing it to be parked legally and exempt from the posted restrictions within that zone.
    • Guest Permit: A permit assigned to a specific zone and associated with a residence, allowing a resident's guest to park legally within that zone, exempt from the posted restrictions.

    What is a permit zone?

A Permit Zone is designated where permits are valid. Permit Zones are primarily residential streets with posted signage designating a specific Zone and permit-oriented parking restrictions.

How many permits will each residence receive?

Households will be eligible for as many parking permits as there are vehicles registered to the residents residing at the address, as verified during permit issuance as well as 2 guest passes.
