Sidewalk Maintenance in Grandview Heights
The City of Grandview Heights prioritizes making sidewalks safe and accessible for everyone. Per Ohio Revised Code 729.01 et seq. and Grandview Heights Codified Ordinances Chapter 913, it is the responsibility of property owners to maintain sidewalk panels adjacent to their property.
2025
In recent years, the City has undertaken a city-wide survey and evaluation of the condition of all sidewalks in Grandview Heights by a professional engineer. The evaluation gives us data to develop, plan, and prioritize our sidewalk program. In order to extend the life of some sidewalk panels, the City contracted to perform grinding services city-wide. However, grinding is not appropriate for all panels and in some cases the sidewalk panel needs to be replaced.
The 2025 Sidewalk Program is targeted in the area below.
Property owners in this area with noncompliant sidewalks will receive letters identifying the specific panels that require replacement.
For more information, please contact Darryl Hughes, Director of Building and Zoning, at 614.481.6208 or via email at dhughes@grandviewheights.gov.
