    What is the process for replacing a sidewalk?

    Hire a Private Contractor: You can choose your own contractor to replace the marked panels. Please obtain a sidewalk permit from our website, grandviewheights.gov, before starting any work. A list of registered contractors can be found at https://www.grandviewheights.gov/83/Building-Zoning. For questions concerning contractors or permits, contact Megan Lonergan at 614.481.6220 or mlonergan@grandviewheights.gov. If the work is not completed by August 15, 2025, the City will replace your sidewalk panels and add the cost to your property taxes.

    City's Replacement Program: The City can add the replacement of your sidewalk to the 2025 Alley & Street Paving Project. The cost to replace the sidewalk panel is $16 per 25 square feet. You can pay the full amount by April 30, 2025, or have the cost added to your property taxes for the following year. To pay the full amount, send a check made payable to the City of Grandview Heights, Service Department, Attn: Sue Smith, 1260 McKinley Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43222.
